Basic of Pressure Vessels

 What is Pressure Vessels ?

Pressure vessels is container ( tanks, cylindrical part or close part) to hold Gas or Liquids at pressure substantially different from ambient temperature.

 Which Material use to made?

The Material may be brittle such as ductile or cast iron or mild steel its depend on use.

When is used ?

Its used in variant application in both Industries and Private sector.

How Many type of pressure vessels?
its basic two type consider

1). According to Dimension
      a) Thin Container
      b) Thick Container

What is Thin Container ?

       > if Container thickness (t) is less than 1/10   of its diameter (d) then ist's call thin Container. e.g Boiler, pipes & tanks.

What is Thick Container ?

        >if Container thickness (t)  is greater than 1/10   of its diameter (d) then ist's call thick Container.e.g gun barrel & cylinders.

2). According to End Constriction
      a) open end
      b) close end

3). According to Position
      a) Vertical Position
      b) Horizontal Position

Objective Question

A Pressure Vessels is said to be a thin cylindrical shell,if the ratio of wall thickness of container to its diameter
  1.  Equal to  1/10
  2.  Less than  1/10
  3.  More than 1/10
  4.  None of above
